 Our Mission Minimize

Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement

The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.

Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives:

  1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
  2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors.

We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.

To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you.  We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

  FLAGS IN THE SAND

The Patriot Guard Riders is proud to announce the PGR Flags in the Sand program.

We can now furnish Patriot Guard Riders Flags to our troops in the Sand Box free of charge to them.  It will work similar to our Wounded Warrior Coins Program.  You may purchase a flag to be sent to a unit of your choice or any unit that has requested a PGR flag to display.  Once an order comes in for a PGR Flag, under this program, it will be sent to a unit, free of charge and shipped free, to a qualified APO/FPO.  You, the member purchaser, will pay only the regular price for the flag and you must provide the name and APO/FPO address for the point of contact that will receive it.  Flags will not be sent to the member purchaser.

Dear Fellow Patriots,

As you have probably noticed by now there is a new button on the Donations page. This button will enable you to make a donation to our Legal defense fund. It's labeled Defense Fund, as not to confuse it with the “Donate To PGR” button on the same page. This is a PayPal account and 100% of donations will go to pay our legal costs for the trademark issue. Our leadership was truly hoping it would not come to this, but they need your assistance in keeping the “Patriot Guard Riders” in the possession of its members, not one person. The board has tried at length to negotiate this issue, but their efforts have fallen on deaf ears and are left no other option but to follow all legal avenues available to them.

This is not something the BOD asks lightly. Our members already pay all of their own expenses to honor the fallen, to attend every mission. They pay for the privilege to ride in the rain or in the cold, and the Board of Directors does not wish to further add to their burden. Since the PGR is a 100% volunteer organization, it counts on donations from members and other concerned citizens to help keep us up and running.

If it appears the donations are approaching the amount of the legal costs, the button will go away. We don't want to raise one extra penny this way; our members give so much already.

**NOTE: Any amount raised in excess of the legal fees will be given to the HOTH program.

Frank Buckles by jayhill111

A diligent patriot his entire life, Frank Woodruff Buckles served his nation for eleven decades.

Frank was born on February 1, 1901. At the age of 16, he witnessed the European theatre of World War I, serving in the United States Army as an ambulance driver. In World War II, he became a Prisoner of War in the Philippines and was imprisoned for 39 months. After his return, Frank settled down in West Virginia to his humble farm, where he lived until his death on February 27, 2011, at the age of 110.

His life is a true story of American commitment and heroism, inspiring many to ask how they can help. Frank's family is deeply appreciative of these offers and attention, but continues to stress it is not so much about Frank, but all he represents.

Thank you West Virginia PGR brothers and sisters for honoring Corporal Frank Buckles on September 22, 2007.

Visit his website at: www.frankbuckles.org
